25 harvests have already taken place since my adventure in the wine world began in the vineyards of my homeland: Trentino.

The culture of wine started to change me forever, dragging me from east to west and then into warm southern regions. I wanted to embrace the Italian soil.

My first harvest in Apulia ten years ago: first of all this region was for me the home of the sea, architecture, art and the Italian tradition. Then the natives of the region told me about their history, their way of life, about cultivation based on their rich soils.

However, I want to tell you about today about the winemakers, our ambitions and the ideas that have formed our wines, because they are the result our common work. United in our passion, we created wines, selected the best regions for planting our vines and obtaining the best quality that we can extract from them. The wine makers know the terroir and the climate, they know about individual local characteristics. Only this knowledge provides the interaction between man and nature that is needed to cultivate the grapes, to make the vines flourish and to create great wines.

I am a consumer of our wines, I taste them and monitor with my colleagues every single step in production and development of the wines in order to achieve the best possible result.

The excellence we obtain from the fruit and its refinement result from the respect we pay to nature and the passion we have for the vine and grapes. This is what I have sought and what I, along with everyone who works with me, send out into the world!

Our latest project is RIPA DI SOTTO. Thanks to constant quality management in the vineyards and strict selection to obtain only the best grapes – chosen from the best wine regions all over Italy – we are able to create wines with superior quality. The specific character of the soil and the climatic conditions were united, all delicate nuances were extracted … and wines of the very best quality were born.

After being harvested gently in the hills of Veneto, the ripe grapes are treated in the classic Italian way by placing them in wooden barrels and frequently turning them over by hand in order to extract the maximum flavor and ingredients from the grapes. After fermentation, some of the young aromatic wine is matured in barrique barrels.  The result is a deep ruby-red wine, with a velvet bouquet of redcurrant and blackberries, as well as delicate notes of bitter chocolate. The finish has a long fruity aftertaste.

The wine was made from pure Primitivo, which takes its name from its early ripening. Cultivation of this grape is widespread in Puglia but it delivers the best results in the province of Trentino. The vines flourish along the slopes of the coastal region. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the grapes develop under warm sunshine and produce a wealth of ingredients and sugar. A perfect process of ripening that concentrates the fruit of the wine: this was my goal. An intense, dark red wine with a deep structure and a fruity bouquet of blackcurrants and blackberries that is an invitation to taste it. On the palate the bouquet opens up warmly with full notes that are reminiscent of vanilla and chocolate, supported by a harmonious tannin structure – well balanced with a fruity, lingering finish.

The Vine Primitivo is on its highest level of softness, tannin and acid, hints after blackberries and spicy notes are harmonious united. A great Wine; full, rich, clear – just excellent. - Luca Maroni

The grapes of this wine grow on a vine called Negramaro, a name taken from the Italian dialect of the region. It is a synonym for the dark color of the wood of the vine and the spicy taste of the wines that are made from it. This wine in the RIPA DI SOTTO series is typical for the Salento region.

The grape produces robust full-bodied wines and has a very high yield, so that fully ripened grapes can be harvested in order to create a wine of superlative quality. Like the Type of the Region which inspired me to Name of this extraordinary Wine-Line : RIPA DI SOTTO

During production it was important for me to express the original southern character of the grapes. The result is a ruby-red, dark, intense red wine with violet reflections. The fragrance is fruity and harmonious, with hints of ripe forest berries, full-bodied to the palate with a well-balanced tannin structure.

A deep dense full-bodied Premium red wine. Defiance of its mighty structure there is a well-balanced interplay between tannin and acidity, soft on the palate although fruity after matured cherries and blackberries, nuances reminding of vanilla and raspberries in bedded in a particular structure there express their full Flavor. - Luca Maroni

This wine I have created with a philosophy from which great wines have been made. I always take care in advance to choose the best blending partners, so I am able to create an excellent cuvee. Apulia’s warm sun and rich soils are perfect conditions for providing a constant supply of nutrients for the vines and thus optimal conditions for ripening the grapes.

The work of cultivating the vineyards was focused on obtaining the best quality, and all processes were based on traditional methods of wine making. The result in the glass is a rounded, harmonious, concentrated red wine with a dark color and a fragrance reminiscent of cocoa, delicate spices, nuances of vanilla and leather. The taste is full-bodied on the palate, and with a syrupy texture this intense red wine unfolds with an open fruity bouquet supported by a mellow tannin structure and well-balanced acidity in the background. The finish lingers long, with fruity reminders of plums and dark berries.

Absolutely one of the best Italian red wines, which I have tasted this year. A wine with weighty intensity but also round on the palate and in general very smooth. An interplay from density, sensitive notes although a clear and open structuration. - Luca Maroni
